Wine Soaps
This project began in an unusual way. During a conversation with one of our long-standing winery clients, they mentioned their desire to change their bottle shapes; however, they had hundreds of boxes in stock, and modifying the bottles would mean discarding all that material. What started as a surplus material problem was transformed, through design, into an innovative and sustainable business opportunity.
Our response was the creation of Wine Soaps, a new product subcategory that gives a second life to existing stock. In collaboration with a local master soap-maker, we developed a line of artisanal soaps crafted using the winery’s own wine. The packaging creatively upcycles the original boxes and surplus cardboard, transforming the excess into an object of desire with high added value.
The result is a piece of contemporary craftsmanship that has become a bestseller in the winery’s shop. What arose as a bespoke solution for one client has now consolidated into a scalable concept that we are currently implementing for other wineries. This project demonstrates how design can lead the transition towards more responsible and conscious production models.
